Five Unusual UK Wedding Venues

Five Unusual UK Wedding Venues

Of course there were days when you chose your local church or your family church as the place where you were to tie the knot and it was as simple as that.  However, those days have passed and the vast amount of civil wedding venues has meant that there is a plethora of choice for engaged couples to select from.  Stately homes and hotels can offer a beautiful backdrop to your big day as well as being a very practical choice as they nearly all offer the opportunity to hold the wedding reception in the same venue but if your tastes run to the more exotic, then take a look at these five unique and different venue choices (all based in the UK).  All of these as well as providing an amazing experience for your guests would provide you with the chance for some truly unique and original wedding photography.

1. Carnglaze Caverns, Cornwall – you can choose to marry in the Rum Store, then Enchanted Dell, the Vine Conservatory or more extravagantly by the Subterranean Lake.  Licensed for 35 guests and with ceremonies taking place by candlelight this is certainly a memorable and somewhat haunting wedding venue.

2.In a Treehouse – nestled by Loch Goil in Scotland, this stunning venue is licensed for 24 guests and really does offer a romantic and unforgettable setting for your wedding vows.

3. London Zoo – ZSL London has two ceremony rooms, one licenced for up to 260 guests, and you can even book your after hours drinks reception in one of the animal houses.

4. Cleyhill Windmill, Norfolk – windmills are intrinsically striking buildings and so they are always going to make a dramatic backdrop to your wedding day.  Cleyhill Windmill is licenced for 22 peopl including the bride and groom so perfect for an intimate wedding and even offers the chance to enjoy a Norfolk cream tea whilst you enjoy the views of the surrounding countryside.

5. Roman Baths, Bath – if you like an early start (ceremonies are only possible at 8.30 in the morning before the rooms open to the public), then the setting of the Roman Baths in Bath might be perfect for you.  Have a true wedding breakfast after the ceremony!

About the Author:

I am a professional Creative ~ Photographer, Videographer, Cinematographer and Drone Pilot My professional photographic career started at the tender age of 13 when I won my first commission to photograph an art collection by a local artist. It paid £50 which was reasonable money for an ambition 13 year old in 1978. I have continued to take pictures ever since, and quite simply, I couldn’t be happier! I am professionally qualified with the British Institute of Professional Photography (BIPP) and the Society of Wedding & Portrait Photographers (SWPP), and also the Masters Photographer Association (MPA), although I have recently decided to give up my membership of the MPA in favour of the other two associations.
